Default Renting in Florida for 1-2 years

I, we are in the process of selling our home here in mass to move to Florida. I am a nurse, and hoping I should be able to get a job most anywhere.....
I am hoping for some advice on where to look at close to a nice community hospital..... My husband wants to live in the Orlando/kissimmee area, but I'd like to be in a smaller town outside of the metro area.....

If anyone has experience relocating...... I'd love to chat!
We also have a 7 year old son and 2 dogs.

We will want to rent first for a year or two then probably purchase a home after that....
Our budget is around $1200/month for rent..... Is it reasonable to think we can get a decent place to live with that amount? I'd like 3 bedrooms, 2 baths......

You might check out Lake Mary, which is the furthest northeast suburb along I-4. It has traditionally had the strongest school system in the metro area (A-rated, all grades), is very safe and family-friendly, and provides easy access to most of the metro area via I-4, the 417 or US 17-92. Three bedroom condos in the area typically run in your price range and are seemingly always available. The Regency Park or Notting Hill condo communities in particular are my recommendations. City of Lake Mary, Florida

Celebration might be a good option. You could work at FH Celebration.

If you're looking for a smaller town Mt. Dora/Eustis area has Waterman (FL Hospital Adventist Network) and Clermont also has Southlake (Orlando Health Systems). You should be able to find somethingin these areas within your budget. For more traditions suburbs you could look at Altamonte Springs, Dr. Phillips, Longwood/Lake Mary, and East Orlando.

yeah I missed the part about schools Maybe windermere, instead.

Referring to Crane Rooster's comment, Dr Phillips might be a little too hustle/bustle for the OP.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just put it out there since Dr. Phillips Sandlake Hospital is nearby.

With Windermere, the OP could get a slower pace, and be commutable to Health Central in Ocoee (disparagingly called "Death Central" by some, but I think that it will improve now that it's been taken over by the Orlando Health hospital system).
