I am planning on moving to Orlando from Boston and I was looking for a nice safe place located roughly halfway in between Disney World and UCF...any suggestions? Thanks!

That's a pretty broad area you're talking about. I would suggest the College Park area but keep in mind you will have to deal with I-4 if you're looking for convenience to both UCF and WDW. I would never live on I-4 or have to drive that monster everyday. It's just not worth it.

How about somewhere away from I-4? I just started looking, so I am not familiar with Orlando at all. I just want somewhere where it wouldn't take too long (maybe no more than 30-40 minutes) to get to either UCF and WDW. I read somewhere about Lake Nona being a nice place...How is Lake Nona?

Try looking into Oviedo. Its fairly close to UCF and only about 40 mins from WDW. Very nice area, close to everything, but far enough.

I work at Disney, and my fiance goes to UCF. We live right next to the Millenia Mall, which works out to be about halfway between. Really I-4 isn't too bad. I drive at 8am to work each day (technically I work in Celebration, which is a bit more south than Disney) and I rarely ever encounter traffic. The drive up to UCF is tolerable too; there's usually just some congestion around the 408 junction, and the rest is fine. In my opinion I-4 gets a worse reputation than it deserves--especially in the attractions area, where it's really not congested much at all.

Thanks for all your help, I'll look into these couple of areas.

I"d have to agree with staying away from I-4. Oviedo is very nice, close to UCF, but on the other side of UCF to WDW.
I'd have to say your best area to look is anywhere along the 417. Hwy 417 heads right by UCF, just about straight to disney, and doesn't usually have much traffic on it. I'd say Lake nona is worth your first look especially if your looking for new construction and a nice area. |

I agree with Greg. My son is at UCF and works at research parkway. We are in the Lake Nona area and he is about 15 minutes from work/school. We can get to Disney in about 20 - 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Waterford Lakes is a great area too!

If possible, could you post some of the zip codes I should look at as well? Thanks.
