Default Great area to live is Altamonte Spgs in Emerson Plaza

We live at Emerson Plaza in Altamonte Springs (North Orlando) overlooking Cranes Roost which hosts tons of entertainment on a regular basis. I miss the ocean but when we open the sliding glass doors onto our expansive balcony it feels like vacation. With the real estate economy so slow the units in this hi-rise are selling at a slow pace so you can now rent a new 2BR/2BA 1,786 SF unit on the 6th floor for only $2,000/month. We love it here because we can walk to everthing: Restaurants, movies, shopping etc. Moderator cut: advertising

Only $2000/month!? That is the average salary here in Central Florida. I can get a nice apartment in a highrise in Hoboken, NJ with a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline for that price!

Default Lake/ Heathrow

Dear tanyarwood

My wife & I moved to Lake Mary 11 years ago. Our kids loved their elementary school (Heathrow Elementary) and really like the schools they are currently attending. Seminole County's schools are among the best in Florida. You can compare school grades & FCAT scores by visting the Florida DOE on-line.

I currently teach and coach basketball at one of the local high schools. My wife sells real estate and substitute teaches. We love this area and would not move. If you have any questions about Lake Mary, Heathrow, or Seminole County please let me know and I'll try to answer them.

What specifically are you looking for in a city or town?

Are you saying that being neat Target and Walmart is somehow enticing? When did people start to actually advertise living next to a gigantic chain in the middle of gigantic strip mall as being a reason to live somewhere? How about some stores that aren't massive characterless generic lowest-common-denominator chains?
