Any suggestions for a clean hotel/motel near Poinciana? I did a google map and it looks like it is not near any major city.

Try checking around Haines City:

Rodeway Inn and Suites
605 B Moore Road , Haines City, FL, US, 33844
Phone: (863) 614-1498
Fax: (863) 422-0409

Is right off US 27 and is probably closer than Kissimmee and Orlando (I did not/have not stayed there, have no info about that location other than having stayed at other locations in the US). Another option may be Davenport, Lake Wales or Winter Haven. Google those locations and compare to Rodeway for price and location and of course use Mapquest or Google Map to ensure that whatever location you decide on is close to or an easy drive to your destination in Poinciana.

The Alhambra at Poinciana is basically a timeshare resort, which may be able to be booked for a short stay. It's occasionally offered on skyauction.com for one-week stays.

I've never stayed there but, except for reports of it being far from the tourist attractions, tripadvisor ratings are o.k., and it looks fine from the outside.

I would never suggest a Rodeway Inn. They are nasty.

You might be better off looking at VRBO and renting a house in Poinciana for a few days or a week. Lot's of short term rentals in that area.

I saw some reviews about Rodeway and they weren't good. I think I will stay with another friend about 45 minutes away.

Thank you for the responses.
