ok while looking for houses i fell in love with a house in the college park neighborhood. it looks like a lovely neighborhood, some half million dollar houses, et cetera... but its on the west side.
is it good to buy here? my real estate agent says that some lots in college park (princeton, harvard, florinda, etc) are going for $200,000 for the DIRT. wow!! |

College park is a great area...just got back from the comedy club they have out there (I think it's called absent mind or something?)
any area or neighborhood you find a home you like in, have your realtor do a CMA on that particular house and make sure it's in a comparable location, if you see a big difference in the west or east side of town, make sure YOU think the homes are comparable. And even if dirt is going for 200K a lot, unless your buying dirt, ignore it. It has nothing to do with buying an existing home, and there are A LOT of things that are taken into consideration when buying a lot to build vs. buying an existing home, some small things that will DRASTICALLY effect the value of dirt. |
