Whats the best lake for watersports ? Would like a clean lake, for jetskiing and other boating. Area doesnt matter, will be using it as a family vacation home and using as a rental also.

Whats your price range? The butler chain of lakes is nice, but pricey. Sand Lake is also good. Both are in the heart of Orlando near the attractions

If you are planning on short term rentals you'll be very limited on which lakes (that allow powered watersports) you can choose from.

You'll have a hard time getting short term renters that far from the Orlando attractions. Not many people would stay for a week just to visit Legoland.

Make sure the HOA allows short-term rentals, even if the local ordinance is OK with it.

The last time I checked on the Butler chain, they have only one public access boat ramp, and it's teeny-tiny with nowhere to park one's vehicle or trailer. It kind of makes the beautiful lakes a moot point.

I am still looking at lakes near winter haven. I like the rural feeling north of wh. Any input? Worried about crime and my wife running.

You will not be able to rent out for less than 6 months 1 day do to city or county laws and believe me when I say if done you will be found out as the local governments check!

Hope this helps,
