Hello Orlando!!!
I have been searching the internet high and low, trying to find out more about Orlando "Downtown"... I was planning on moving to Orlando at the first of the year, but it has just been moved up a couple months... Now I only have around a month to find and secure a place... I am a young single proffesional looking to live in the downtown area... I went to Orlando a couple weeks ago, for the first time for a little -recon- mission to check the area out... I had a difficult time finding a high rise apartment/condo/loft rental... I think, maybe I just need the right contact - or pointed in the right direction... I am not looking to buy, just rent something >>>Downtown<<<... I did not have a chance to drive on the outskirts of downtown, but would prefer the Eola park area... If there is somewhere similar to this area, let me know... I am heading back this weekend to look around a bit more... Thank you... |

Me thinks you have mistaken Orlando for a "City". If you're looking for that cool ex-cotton gin factory turned loft, you may be looking for a long time.
Orlando is about pink stucco and overpriced high rises. You could also get a new (sans character) 650 sq ft studio apartment on Lake Eola for about $1375 per month...but why? |

Yup. The Post apartments on Lake Eola is the same per sq. ft. as it is in NYC. At least it was about 18 months ago when I checked them out and almost had a stroke in the lobby!

. Lake Eola is a nice spot but gheez...I can get a perfectly livable studio in Miami Beach or a decent TWO bedroom out in a nice suburb in South Florida for that price... |

I appreciate the feedback, I am aware of the Post properties… Yes, they are proud of their development and they have a very nice set-up… It seems to be about the only “rental” available in that area… I was hoping to have a couple options though, before deciding on this property (I have a feeling that Post Properties pretty much has the area controlled for rental market...?)… Is there another area outside the Lake Eola district that has a similar “downtown” type theme…

Winter Park is a great area and close to downtown, the professional areas of north Orlando and not too far (30 minutes) from the attractions. If you are in the rental market and appreciate upper-middle class living, you can't go wrong there. |

We have a beautiful house in downtown Orlando, on a lake, within walking distance of all the great restaurants, Lake Eola, etc. We have been trying to sell but would now consider renting. It is a two story, stucco house in Thornton Park with 4 bedrooms, hardwood floors, fireplace, new carpet. Designed to fit into the neighbourhood but is only 10 years old. Washer/dryer/AC/gas.
Wondering if there is any interest? |

Decasu,
There are many rentals in the downtown area what you will be faced with are some pretty steep rents if you truly want he urban high rise. I jsut did a search and the rents start at $750 - 3500 I also pulled just east too so the lower ones will likely be there. there are some affordable places nearby if money is a factor. Good Luck |
