We are moving and have furniture to sell. Some almost brand new, some not. Does anyone know the best way (in Orlando) to sell furniture before a move? Is craigslist effective? Or other online places? I haven't read the classifieds in years - does that still work?

I'm looking for the most successful means for our area - thanks for your input.

If craigslist doesn't work for you try an auction house. Good Luck

Craigslist works great, but keep in mind that high quality used furniture in excellent condition generally sells for no more than 25% retail, and if it's not high quality in excellent consition you are looking at maybe 10%, and possibly just giving it away.

Auction houses generally only deal with higher end furniture, and will have a minimum fee. If you don't make enough selling your furniture, you'll still owe them out of pocket. They are great for really, really high end furnishings and antiques, but not so great for "regular" furniture.

You can also consider donating the things you can't sell on Craigslist to charity for the tax write off.
