ps. I ask everyone I encounter in Central Florida at stores, movies, etc -Floridians, Ny'ers, Ca, Mass, etc. and 90% say they would not go back to where they came from (the other 10% are on here complaining but not doing anything to help). Everyone I have encountered is very nice, I have found "Southern Hospitality". The only problem that I have found is that they so want to help that they go on and on and on and I am usually running late. But I am not complaining, I think the people are great. Also, I apologize for the Baptist comment, I know they are not all the same and there are plenty of hypocrates in a every religion.

If the reason you want to leave Atlanta is because of overcrowding. Orlando probably isn't the right place for you. Lots of people are here too.

I'm definately keeping an open mind. I've lived in cities where people swear its hard to get a good job (i.d Austin, Atlanta, etc..) so i'm not discouraged...just taking it all in and weighing the pros and cons...

You must be kidding. There are almost no southerners left is Central Florida. "Southern Hopsitality" and this part of Florida don't go together anymore. Maybe if you get into Sanford and Eustis, but that's about it.

The night before that 2 ATM machines were robbed out by where i live near I-Drive......people got robbed at gunpoint.....the Olive Garden in Lake Buena Vista where near where I work was robbed at gunpoint last week to but it didnt make the news....just go eat there one night and ask the manager .......Someone please tell me who "Plies" is?.......if you honestly cant answer this without going to google then you are not on the level as the average person working in the lower/middle class jobs living in apartments in Orladno and you of coarse wont understand how bad things are in areas on the street level......bigotted remarks?...LOL...Where are my bigotted remarks?.....if people other than you actually being victims of crime in Orlando are making "trivial remarks" about an experience then i guess they should be punished for ever being robbed and not be able to tell people that this stuff happens in all communities in Orlando more now than a couple years back......if you go to "any" ATM in the Orlando area you are at risk.....if you say that you are safe and secure ....well that's all on you.....it only takes one inccedent to change the coarse of your life.....it doesnt take you personally getting robbed everyday in Orlando for things to be unsafe in some areas.......im sure when crime actually touches you one day that you will talk differently about how sunshiny and safe things really are Last edited by THASPECIAL; 10-14-2007 at 03:14 AM.. |

some people have never lived somewhere for more than a year and act like they seen it all....it's all people from up north or the midwest that live in this area....so if anyone moves here and says that something is stupid about how Orlando is then i would keep the actuall true locals out of that complaint because they are extinct....the only real southern local community down here is in Pine Hills and Eatonvillle and other perdominantly black towns in the area....other than that there are hardly any true Orlando southerners at all Last edited by Keeper; 10-14-2007 at 08:13 AM.. |

More judgements on class of people right here in your post with the Plies nonsense. Very bigoted. Gansta rap may be a big part of your life & your friends, but many other average people are influenced by other forms of music. I guess if I'm not part of the gangsta rap scene then my opinion is uninformed & not an average citizen. The excessive drama in the description of using the ATM. "Orlando area you are at risk.....if you say that yif you go to "any" ATM in the ou are safe and secure ....well that's all on you..." In my post I specifically said you are at risk using an ATM anywhere in the world, let alone in Pine Hills at 1am. How did you interpret that differently? Your descripion of what happens at a 4 way stop, that you posted on another thread is high drama about the most trivial thing. Can you tell me the difference between a STOP & a COMPLETE STOP? Is it anything like pregnant or completely pregnant. I know that intersection. It's by the Embassy suites on palm parkway. I drive through there multiple times a day. I have seen the same things you do there, but I wouldn't say it's a real trouble spot. You're making mountains out of mole hills. Oh and please stop catagorizing people. You're usually putting them in the wrong category. Last edited by stugots32837; 10-14-2007 at 10:03 AM.. |

I would settle down just north of Orlando in Seminole County. Nice clean area with excellent schools, ammenities, and lower crime. You can enjoy Orlando without living in the "thick" of the congestion & tourism. JMO...

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MOVE TO ORLANDO. IN FACT, IDEALLY, FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR DEAR DAUGHTER, MOVE TO A DIFFERENT STATE!!! Take my advice as an educator and one who has resided in this miserable state for far too long (and is attempting to exit shortly, God willing). The wages are abysmal and the cost of living continues to increase. Moreover, the crime is on the rise. Please think about another viable alternative! However, if you are intent on relocating in this state, do not go to Orlando! |

Govt officials decided to put govt housing & govt subsidized housing into the Pine Hills area. The properties depreciated & the original residents left. Never was Pine Hills a southern community like Eatonville. It was one of the original transplant communities. Last edited by stugots32837; 10-14-2007 at 10:06 AM.. |
