Rosemont was also an upper middle class neigborhood when originally developed in the 1970's.

Eatonville and Pine Hills have people in a large community with southern roots here......dont tell me those areas are all northern blacks because northern blacks have a whole different culture then what you see in Pine Hills/Eatonville/Rosemont/Apopka..ect.....

This is so true....i wanna her someones grandmother or 40 year old father say they go downtown or in areas of Orlando to relax and drink a cold one after 9-10pm.......LOL.......I like how you called Winter Garden....Winter Garbage....LOL.......I heard you are from NY......you see i like people like you from NY.....at least you see the truth about things here and in other places.....

As far as the reply to this thread goes....well i know about the tatoo cladded thugs downtown Orlando at night because i go to "Tabu" on tuesdays for the free drinks.......but you dont see family folks out there "AT ALL" in the city after 7-8pm.....but i do have fun but constantly watch my back going out there.....there are lots of fun things for families to do out near the attractions area.......and the weather is good too me because i was raised in Florida but Crime= Higher than average here.....traffic = alot of speeders and aggresive drivers/road rage......jobs = only if you are in a high paying field but those jobs are scarce here.......apartments.....well if you want a safe area i would say 1200-1400 a month will get you a really nice apartment lower than that will be near some shady places and those shady tatoo cladded influences will be at the same stores/ATM machines/resturants you go to in those types of areas....and if you only have $600 a month or less to shell out you will be in the ghetto....as far as houses...i know nothing except when i roomated in Azelea Park and payed $400 a month splitting an $800 a month rent with a roomate....it was a nice quite street but those ghetto kids were always around walking through sometimes and there was a break in and a stolen car over there in that area when i lived there and it was near THE GHETTO BY cURRY Ford Rd. and Stonewall Jackson so there were always ghetto things going on over there....but thats what kind of neighborhood you get in Orlando if paying $400-$700 a month for rent

There you go again, twisting what I said. I was talking about Pine Hills. Not Rosemont, Apopka or Eatonville. Your original post was false when you mentioned Pine Hills as being southern. That's what I addressed.

You need to learn more facts about our local area's history.

The culture of Pine Hills and its people is the culture of a Southern Black community...bottom line..anyone can read both of our posts and then go to Pine Hills for themselves and see if it looks like these people are southern or northern.....the northern population here is mainly rich/middle class whites-blacks and poor/middle class Puerto Ricans mixed in with some rich puerto ricans from up north...the black communities in Orlando are the only true "southern" communities in Orlando...and that includes Pine Hills.....i hope someone will drive down there and report what they see.....then we will all know that it is a southern community.....might have started from northerners way way back but since it became a black community it has been a southern feeling town with southern culture in it

I type as it comes off the top of my head....but really do you honestly see the Pine Hills community as not being a southern influenced area?

I am a paralegal with a degree and certified, so what are the odds of me obtaining a good job? What is a good area to live in as far as schools, not too far from urban night life, and not too pricey? I plan on buying a home and I am already aware they are pricier than the ones I am use to in Atlanta. I am looking for a NICE, affordable neighborhood with 3/2 bedroom homes. Any suggestions please? I have not looked for a job there but the neighborhood I live in I would want to be a central location to any major areas where the job opportunities are abundant. Thanks
You have got to lock down a job here before you come here. So before you make any REAL plans to move here. Visit, spend a little time here just to get a feel for the area. Your spirit will tell you right away if this is for you. If you have money in the bank OK. If not, I would advise you to stay in a city where you have family and or good friends. Make and save some money. Then venture into this relocation. Remember the most profound change of scenery can be accomplished by a change in the way you view YOUR WORLD. Stay where you know you CAN MAKE IT. Make it. Then move.
