Default Schools in Winter Haven

Overall, how are the schools in Winter Haven? Could you recommend any housing developments in good school districts?

I agree. It seems to be a nice area. Check out flhousing.org. You should find it and the various links very useful. Good luck!

Thanks to you both for your responses. I was relieved not to get the usual responses from the nae sayers who claim that the Orlando area is a bubbling cess pool of poverty and despair. I live in the metro DC area. It truly is no paradise here either. Winter Haven seems like a very nice town.

I think the Orlando area is a bubbling cess pool of poverty and despair. But I don't personally consider Winter Haven part of the Orlando Area. To me, Winter Haven is like another country when compared to Orlando.

Good luck, Winter Haven is nice!

Default Schools/Neighborhoods in Winter Haven

Just moved here from South Orlando to the East Winter Haven area, just within the city limits. I'd check out East Winter Haven, just off of US Hwy27, lots of new home builders around here w/ great deals going on. "A" rated elementary school (Elbert), but a "C" rated High School (Winter Haven High - What else is new, that's all of Florida's high schools).

Good luck in your search...................

Guess this person has not seen much of Orlando. Cess pool is a harsh term for the "city beautiful". There's lots of nice areas, even in downtown Orlando (College Park, historic downtown, off of Kaley Ave). I lived in South Orlando (Hunters Creek) for 5 years and was a beautiful place to live and raise a family w/ "A" rated schools, etc. Kissimmee, I agree, does need some improvement but I wouldn't call it a cess pool..................I wouldn't live there either.......................
