Hi, I am going to be in Orlando for 8 days with 2 kids ages 4 and 5. Going to spend time at the theme parks but what other places besides Disney/theme parks would you recommend for us. Thanks

You might be interested in the Orlando Science Center. They are also the perfect age for LegoLand.

Otherwise it would depend on what you are looking for. Outdoors activities, typical tourist traps, educational activities?

There's this: Animal Farm and Petting Zoo | Orlando Family Fun | Green Meadows Farm Kissimmee Florida

Also, you can have a fun time spending the day at Lake Eola... there's a big playground, swan boat rides, etc.

There's a million things we could list, so it'd be easier if you could narrow it down some. Would you prefer indoor or outdoor, affordable, active or educational, etc., ?

Anything, indoor or outdoor is fine. Just looking for ideas to pass the time in between our visits to Disney. The park sounds nice, thanks.

Some of my favorites already mentioned...if it's warm enough there is a slashpad/park the Ft Mellon Park in Sanford.

Boat tours in Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour - Winter Park, Florida

Take a ride up to Blue Springs State park to see the manatees.

I'm planning heading down to Orlando during Spring break. I would like to know what other place beside theme park worth seeing.

I will add Orlando Science Center to the list.

Is any dinner show worth going?

Is the water warm enough for the water theme park?

I definitely take them to some of the springs (Wekiva Springs, Rock Springs, Blue Springs, Ginnie Springs) as that is uniquely Florida experience. Kids (well my nieces and nephews anyways) also enjoy the Orange County History Center downtown. Afterwards you stroll to the nearby Library and Lake Eola Park for some Swan Boats, there are some frozen yogurt shops and other things nearby that kids enjoy. Some people are mixed on this, but Airboat rides are fun, some parents think it's too dangerous though.

The water parks have heated pools and if it's too cold they close down, basically if they let you in the water's fine.
