We are moving from Boston to Orlando in the next couple of months. I have a job around the UCF area and would like to stay within 15 minutes of that area.

We have 2 young kids (3 years and 1 year) and would like to stay in a nice family oriented apartment complex / town home. Cost is not an issue - I pay almost $ 1700 for a 2 bedroom here, so anything cheaper would be good!

Any specific apartment recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

most apartments/town homes close to UCF are student oriented. w 60K+ students, suggest you take that into consideration.

YEARS ago, we stayed in Alafaya Woods Apartments in Oviedo with our small children and it was fine. Would suggest that you look in Alafaya Woods houses subdivision for a rental. That might work. But it has been a long time since i lived there.

Some folks would suggest Avalon Park area to the other side of UCF. but it might be a longer drive. Folks who live there like it though and I can't speak to availability and cost.

I work on the university campus and live in Carillon Subdivision, houses only. it is within 2 miles of UCF and 2 miles from Seminole College. Right by the elementary and high schools. Rents run about $1400+ I think and last I heard single families only can rent.

Good luck

Head north to Oviedo which is a close commute to the UCF area. It's one of the best school districts and safe for families generally. Check out Oviedo Grove or Elmhurst Village where you can find a nice 3 bedroom for $1100-$1200 per month.
