Who thinks the Orlando forum should be shut down? It looks like far more people come on here to go on racist rants and have political discussions than give moving advice. To me, it's truly a ruined forum. Anyone else think the Orlando forum should be over with? I mean, there really is a difference between giving reasons not to move here and basing entire threads on local politics and racial issues, basically as personal rants.

Believe it or not, that is what happens on other city boards as well. People tend to go off topic. Race and politics tend to dominate all the threads.
I think that the Orlando forum should continue, but the moderators will have to delete posts that generate racial bigotry, personal attacks, and political rants. |

It's an unfortunate situation--I don't even look at the Orlando or Miami forums anymore because of this problem. What upsets me is when I see people new to the forum get scared off from an area because of 2 or 3 haters.

I have to agree with all of you.....I go to the others state's board and for the most part they are very pleasent and helpful. Look at the difference even with the Jax and Tampa forums.
The haters on this board are doing no one any good. I rarely come in here anymore because of this. Maybe moving the threads that become political and racial to the controversies thread might help it stop. |

I don't want it shut down because of the "haters". Heck, I'm not fond of Orlando myself. I'm just saying that the type of discussion here, in comparison to other state forums, really isn't good. Even the Miami forum tends to be more productive, amongst the "haters". The "haters" seem to give advice in a way that is relevant and reasonable on that forum.

I don't think it needs to be shutdown, but something needs to be done so that the haters don't intimidate new people to the site. How that's to be done, I'm not sure.

Wasn't Orlando voted as the angriest city?

NO! We already have some Orlando folks who jump to the Jax forum with their negativity and opinions based on non-knowledge. I'm not opposed to dissenting opinions, but the SOS day after day... I say keep them busy on the Orlando forum so they will have less time for ours!

no, i say we dont shut it down. ppl say what they feel, and i know i am one of them. if someone wants to vent about george bush and say he is the reason for some of our problems, then so be it. i have no problem with someone disagreeing with me, voicing their opinion, or even putting me in my place at times as i have a habit of venting my frustration. i say everyone quits worrying about being so PC all the time. my 2 cents.
