We live in south Florida and have gone to Orlando often during the holidays. One of the places I would recommend visiting is Celebration - it is beautifully decorated. All in all, you really get into the spirit of the holidays in Orlando and people do decorate.
Have fun!! |

Remember to Visit Kissimmee Florida and see the Biblical One's Bird and Nature Show.

I have never heard about that Providence. Could you give more info?
Drive through BVL (Northeast Kissimmee) when you get in town. They really go crazy with decorating there. Does anyone know if they still have that Christmas Lights at MGM (the Osbourn's or Osmond's or whatever)? If so, it is pretty cool. Have fun! |

Yes, we still decorate our houses with lights and lawn ornaments. Some people really go to town.

The lights at MGM are still there, but not as good as before they built the new stunt show and eliminated all the houses. Celebration also has the "Snow" every hour in the evening and there is ICE at Gaylord Palms that is fun too.

You know what we used to do? Go to Disney and park at one of the hotels on the monorail (like the Polynesian). Ride the monorail around Disney and get off at other hotels whenever we felt like it. The hotels are gorgeously decorated and often they have traveling entertainment (like the folks dressed up like A Christmas Carol, singing). Then we'd find a place for a drink or lunch. Just make sure to leave before the parks let out or it will be quite busy!
The family loved doing this and best of all...the monorail is free!! |

Great suggestions Buddy. I used to do that in High School - the Grand Floridian is the best. Thanks for reminding me of such great memories. I definitely plan on taking my family this year.

I was also wondering about that. Wondering about what christmas was like in Orlando. I am a HUGE decorator at christmas, well i try my best. Money has always been tight. But I do what i can. And Orlando is where I'm moving ina few years. The one thing I was always concerned about was christmas down there. I was always wondering if i'd have to come back to georgia to enjoy christmas. I didn't want to be somewhere that didn't do a lot on Christmas. And I also wondered if having a Hot Christmas affected anybody down there? I typically like a cold christmas. And I know orlando is normally hot. Anyone had the same thoughts? And I have seen some pretty displays in Orlando around Christmas, just didn't know if that was a rare case or not.
