My wife and I are moving to Orlando at the end of June/beginning of July, and we're desperate for a place to stay while we house-hunt in July. The problem is, we have cats, and in all my searching I've found all of two places that might be available. Everything is for vacationers, and everything is booked.

I've searched airbnb.com and vrbo.com, as well as Value Place and Extended Stay America, and I haven't had much luck. I was hoping that someone here might have advice as to more places I could look.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You might opt for an extended stay property in Sanford/Lake Mary for example (where there are a few nice ones in safe areas convenient to the rest of the metro area) and board your cats at a place like Pet Paradise in Sanford. It's an awesome facility that's clean and is like a pet resort. It's $40 a day to board two cats which seems steep but you'll pay an extra $25 per day for places that accept pets and I don't know of any that'll accept cats. The extended stay properties like Extended Stay America and Homestead are 10-15 minutes away so you can visit frequently...

We're going to be faced with the same issue in the near future. We will have to wait until we get down there before we can start house hunting and like you we have cats as well. We can't afford $40 a day for boarding and rent. We would like to rent a house of mobile home on a month to month basis until we find a house to purchase. Good luck to you and let us know how it works out as we'll be following in your footsteps soon.

Try Candlewood Suites or Laquinta in Lake Mary. Both accept pets. Candlewood offers weekly and monthly rates. Good luck!

The resort is discounting its on-property room rates. It is also offering park ticket discounts when purchased as part of a hotel/park passes package. Good for stays on select days from June 13 through August 14, 2013. Book by June 14, 2013. A late-summer/fall promotion is good for stays August 15 through September 28, 2013 and must be booked by July 31, 2013

What is your budget and where would you like to be? I recently relocated and am staying at an extended stay hotel near UCF which is East Orlando. They have vacancies and so do the other extended stay places around here. It can
be between 1200 and 1400 a month.
