Does anyone have any recs on gutter cleaners? We have a one story 2000 sq ft house with a screened in pool. The side with the screened in pool will need to be power washed since the patio roof mostly likely won't hold the weight of a human. Other than that we have normal gutter set up. I got an estimate for $235 and thought that was really high. Thanks

That does seem rather high for a non-skilled labor project, which in my calculation should take no longer than say three hours to accomplish...$75 an hour???? Yikes! It might be time to enlist the services of a good handyman. Craigslist is a source, not sure about Angie's List. Sometimes neighbors can provide leads. Mine charges $20-$30 an hour (depending on the service) and does everything from weeding once a month to painting, minor electrical and plumbing as well as gutter cleaning.

With a single story home, just do it yourself with a step ladder. We've never paid someone to do that, my husband takes care if it, including the power washing.

PS, if you go the handyman route, make sure they are licensed and insured.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm not a DIY guy, so I have to rely on someone else to take care of this, considering we don't even have a ladder yet. I have a handyman in mind, but the back portion around the screened in pool/porch is not something you can stand on, so I believe you need a special tool to clear all the debris out. Kinda caught between a rock and a hard place here. I received a new quote for $125-$150, but they said if that section proves troublesome they'll have to charge more.
