Default West Orlando Relocation Question

We will be moving to Orlando this summer for family reasons. I am looking for advice on West Orlando neighborhoods. We need to be close to family who live off of Old Winter Garden rd., so Lake Mary, Oviedo, etc. are not an option. I have pretty much narrowed it down to a single family house in west MetroWest (yes I know about the real or percieved crime problem) or a townhome in Dr. Phillips. I would appreciate honest advice from those in the area on a cozy not too snobby neighborhood for a family for around 300k. We are an interracial family and would like somewhere with middle class diversity, a nice park, and of course safety.

Ok... apparently I can't offer to do a search for you.

You may want to check into Winter garden and or ocoee area's though. I'd need a little more info on what your looking for, (Moderator deleted

IN the meantime, there are great new neighborhoods in the wintergarden area where you can get large homes in the low 300 range, and midsized homes below 300K. A few particular neighborhoods come to mind that are walking distance from the west orange trail and a large park with tennis, playgrounds, etc.

Have not been to Winter Garden, I will check it out over the holidays - thanks. Just looking for a family area with preferably a town home or low maintenance yard. Something nice and well kept, but not too snoby like a lot of Orlando areas.

Metro West is great, I live there and I feel plenty safe. I suppose you could get lost and end up in a sketchy part of town pretty quick, but as long as you don't wonder into Pine Hills you'll be fine. This place has a nice community feel to it and I haven't found it to be snobby at all. Look for houses on the west side of Metro West. A lot of neighborhoods like to bill themselves as Metro West but are not. Just remember look for a place that is West of Kirkman Rd. and atleast 2 blocks North of Old Winter Garden.

Winter Garden is very nice, so is Ocoee. Both have made big strides in redoing their downtowns. I really enjoy the Flower festivals in downtown WG.
