I have heard that the public school that serves Heathrow is very good but I don't know about the schools in Lake Mary.

there are actully several elementary schools here in lake mary! it all depends on which part of lake mary you live in. if you live in the city limits of lake mary you have 2-3 schools that your children will go to. if you live in lake mary but the unincorporated sections, you have something called a "cluster" and you usually have 4 elementary schools to choose from.

Default Public versus Private

Dear jujufromnice

I have taught in the public school system for 11 years as a high school teacher. All of the Seminole County Public Schools are very good. I would not waste the money to pay private tuition. I know most of the Lake Mary's elementary schools are very strong. You can pull up information on the FCAT scores for each school if you go to certain websites. Both of my children went through Heathrow Elementary. We were very happy with them.

You are welcome to contact me with more specific questions about particular schools if you wish. I hope this information is useful.

I always tell people to remember that the public schools have more financial resources to use in the classroom and that they typically pay teachers a higher salary. I could teach and coach any where I want, but one of the original reasons I chose public schools was the salary.

Default Lake Mary, It's a no brainer

If you have a choice between the two offices, you should probably choose Lake Mary. Lake Mary has great schools, a lot less traffic than Tampa, and just finished #4 in Fortune Magazines Best Places to Live. I'm sure there are nice places in Tampa, but you couldn't get me to leave Lake Mary to move there If you have specific questions about the Lake Mary area, please let me know.
