I guess the "positive" people on here didnt read the main post i made to start this thread ....i was trying to see who would be "real" and state both positives and negatives about Orlando without comparing and starting flame wars but i guess some people overexadurate in both ways...positively and negatively

You do know, people shoot at each other on the freeways in Cali.; last month, we had an accident that shut down the biggest freeway in Cali; it was shut down for 5 days! It is the only freeway from N to S.
Orlando has little problems compared to many large cities. The grass is not always greener. Trust someone whom has lived everywhere but the MidWest. San Diego almost burnt down recently because it doesn't rain on the W. coast. It rains at 4 o clock everyday in the rainy season in Orlando, and it only rains for 15 minutes. Talk about perfect and predictable. And on top of that, the rain is warm. "Opps, I got caught without an umbrella. Ohh welll, the rain is 70+ degrees." Trust me, stop complaining about Orlando.
Ohh, and one more thing; I live in one of the nicer neighborhoods in L.A.. This year, a guy shot up his neighbors because his landlord wouldn't give him another parking space. This happened less than a block from me, and once again, this is in a "safe" area of L.A.. Orlando is the bomb!!!

Again....i lived in Fresno CA, San Jose CA, Hanford CA, Miami FL, Miami Lakes FL, Carol City FL, Hialeah FL, Norland FL, W. Hallandale FL, Nashville TN, Bellevue TN, Antioch TN, North Nashville TN, Houston TX, Phoenix AZ, White Springs FL, Lake City FL, Tallahassee FL, Deltona FL, Altamonte Springs FL and now the actuall city of Orlando FL
This thread was started by "ME" because too many people wanna compare other areas when the peoples' experiences arent the same for everyone because we dont all live in the same areas of our cities and we dont all have the same type of money ect.....so i was asking "EVERYONE" to post positives "and" negatives of living in Orlando for each of us so that we can give out of towners an idea of what life is like here....not in NY, or L.A., or TOKYO....ect........out of all those places ive lived and i didnt even mention the places ive visited which one was L.A. ..Well out of all those places ive seen i give "my" view on the experiences i had in those places.....please people get on topic and say what you see negative "and" positive in Orlando
By tha way...people have shot each other on I-4 here this year too....just read some news over here

The crime frightens me. Not long after I moved here I think it was 4 or 5 people were beaten to death in a house in Deltona, beaten with baseball bats.
A young man working at a video store was being held up at gun point when his dad came to pick him up and take him home, his dad saw what was going on and got his own gun and shot the robber, this was in Orange City.
After the races a man was shot too death by some raging race fans going home from Daytona, that was at the exit for Deltona and Debary if memory serves. That same week a woman was shot at down near Alta Monte on I'4.
I live alone with my daughter and I go to sleep every night with the outdoor lights on, I leave a light on in the living room as well. I have a security system AND a .38 in my bedside table. Where I come from (Texas) ALOT of people not only have guns but they carry them on their person. I have NO problem shooting someone should they be unwise enough to find their way into my home. I hope it never comes to that. Its something I would NEVER forget having to do.

And why exactly do they put all that nefarious effort into only reducing the temperature by 3 degrees?? Why not go a little farther? After all 92 doesn't exactly sound like heaven compared to 95. Or did the Orlando Tourism Board strongmen do a poll and find out tourists really like it at 92?
As if that weren't enough to make you wonder, who exactly are they fooling? As soon as the tourist gets off the plane they figure out that it's humid and stifling outside. The cat's out of the bag already on that- everyone knows Orlando is crazy hot in the summer yet they come anyway. And they even come back! How would pretending it's 92 instead of 95 change any of that?
Think about it for a moment- is it really worth the massive effort to artificially reduce the temp by 3 degrees?
There is a much simpler hypothesis (though less exciting for you): You need a new thermometer.

Sorry....Not even close!
Central Florida was THE first choice for Walt, NOT Miami.
He actually started buying up land here on the cheap, under bogus names.
He knew that if the sellers knew he (Disney) was purchasing 27,000 acres of land, the price would increase by holy crap percent.
Once word got out, however (and it eventually did), the price did just that.
Walt himself said that, he wanted to build in central FL because of its "great weather year-round"!
I'm sure the land was just as cheap in Idaho.

Orlando may have little problems compared to L.A., but that means nothing to me as I'm from Connecticut. Comparing Orlando to Litchfield County Connecticut is probably like comparing Compton California to Newton Mass.
It is all relative to where you came FROM. For some people, they came from such a pit, that Orlando actually seems like an improvement.

Exactly, anyone from any area other than the rust belt, including other parts of Florida despises Orlando like the plague!!!

I dont know if i agree with King Louix totally, but he does make some points. Mark Hunt said depending on where you moved to Orlando from, you may think it's great, or you may think it's a pit. I agree with this as well. If you are from NYC, Philly, or DC, you may like it here in Orlando. But, if you are from Small Town America or anywhere else in the Southeast, you may think Orlando is an angry city with not much going for it. It just depends on the individual, but I'd say it is disappointing to more ppl than a pleasant suprise, after the "newness" wears off.
