Please do not speak for me. I am from South Carolina and I LIKE Orlando and have MANY friends from North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Michigan and even California who LOVE it.

maybe it was the area i have lived in, metrowest, downtown, on kirkman and hiawasee (50 and 45 mph) i had difficulty reaching the speed limit bc everyone was going about 10 mph below it. on the freeways (usually 55 mph) people go about that to 10 over, in Dallas and KC, if there is no congestion, people go 85, and there is much more weaving across lanes (also in tampa bay). maybe its jsut relative to other places i have lived. in DC people drive slower, but that is bc it is always congested. i have really not experienced much road rage here.

Traffic in Orlando is bad, if you are comparing it to the rest of the South or midwest. If you factor in growth, it might get much worse. Orlando didn't learn alot from the mistakes other areas made. The politicians are not forward thinking at all.

Sonny Perdue is out praying for rain... what are politicians in Orlando doing? Orlando is going to eat the same crapburger that Georgia is right now if things don't change. Bottom line, Orlando is not a very progressive city.

And Disney is one of many, many tourist destinations in the world. Lots of European tourists go to Spain or Greece, after all. It is just a matter of time till a European tourist is gunned down on I-Drive and you can watch all that tourism disappear. The tabloid press will have a field day with it.

They didn't just get over it though.....I grew up there......and after that time i was in highschool and we had an exchange student from Germany in my German class....well he was at the school for about 5 weeks and would always give us the answers on our homework or tests because our teacher would always leave the class for 5-10 minutes at a time....and one day this kid didnt come back to school at all and no one knew where he was...but then our German teacher told us one day that his parents called and said that he went to the Burger King for lunch one day near American high (this is where 47th ave used to chill out) and his parents said that 15 black kids jumped him at Burger King and he was in the hospital in critical condition....later that year we found out that he made a recovery but he went back to Germany and called out teacher and said he didnt want this to happen again so he needed to go back to where it was safe to go to school....So the tourist killings stopped for the most part or at least they arent made light of anymore if one happens....but if you look out of place in Miami then you're more of a target for some sick people down there an there is alot of sick minds that are just looking for someone to beat up or rob.....i wouldnt be a tourist and just think i could be safe walking anywhere in Miami and even as a citizen....but i wouldnt be shaking while i was walking the streets either....Orlando is becoming the same way slowly......Im not talking about Windemere either or Lake Nona

Default so all the positives have now been turned to negatives

1. The weather is one of the worst climates in the country. 95 degrees for 120 days 90 degrees for another 100
2. Attractions and Entertainment--This place has no culture, people are entertained by a theme park once or twice in a lifetime unless they are a total moron.
3. Orlando has the worst location in the State and the country, sure you can drive an hour to beaches, but everyother city in Florida is on the coast, so why is spending $30 on a half tank of gas to go to the beach a plus? Also the big problem with Florida is that you can't experience any contrast at all without driving 500 miles.
4. Good places to eat. Orlando has by far the worst local food I have ever tasted, and I have lived in 7 cities and traveled to hundreds. If you like price gauging chains this is your place. If your one of those people I see standing outside the Olive Garden on Saturday night with that vibrator, I envy you, I really must be missing something.
5. Jobs in the service industry--Wonderful we can offer high school dropouts more opportunity than other cities.
6. No urban blight--Our entire downtown is urban blight. When was the last time your destination was downtown unless to visit a tatoo parlor??
7. You love seeing palm trees? Have you ever seen peak fall colors or flowers blooming in the spring?
8. Your mother is here--I'm sure she is great woman, but I've never met her.
The key to happiness is convincing oneself they are happy, for that I envy you.

I've been thinking alot about leaving Florida, I'm tired of living in this rat race, I grew up on a beach and I'm trying to figure out why I moved here in the first place. Oh yeah, it was that dream job with Disney Cruise Line that paid $7.75/hr. Paid $25,000 for the college degree that got me that "opportuntity" to work for Disney. Yep, as soon as I finish forclosing on my overpaid worthless condo I'm out of here and back to the state whose slogan is "Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places."
