This is interesting:
Orlando-Area Murder Map -- OrlandoSentinel.com It's a map of where all the murders occurred this year. It looks like there's a lesson there: Stay east of I4 and away from ugly streets like Colonial and Semoran and you will be safe. Here's the murder rate for some well known areas: Downtown Orlando proper: zero Winter Park: zero Seminole County: zero Where you should live? Those places. Use the map. ores |

That's because it's by the Orange County law enforcement agency. If Seminole has 10 murders than it's still not bad for it's size.
Judging by that map, the homicides are REALLY spread out compared to most cities. |

Seminole County had at least one murder this year. Oviedo had its first murder in about 70 years.

I'm not worried about getting murdered in Orlando since most homocides are either drug related or domestic violence issues. On the other hand armed robberies are a huge concern to the average citizen here.

I would be more concerned about assaults and robberies personally because i have no enemies and if you get murdered then you dont live in fear after it occurs because you are dead....the amount of murders just reflects the problems that stem from crime and criminals in the area....but even 110 murders is alot for this area....and like fort lauderdale said ..they are pretty spread out.....if you are saying that we will be fine if we stay east of I-4 then tell me what other metro areas are only "safe" in half of the metro area?....besides i did see some murders on that map east of I-4 too......well Orlando isnt the worst for murders but 110 in the area spread out like that doesnt make this place look like Disney World is right around the corner either |
