I have problems finding the perfect sub or philly cheese steak but some places come very close.

correction..the pizza place on 419 & 50 in the bronx pizza, not another brooklyn pizza. but it is very good.

they use to have a good steak and cheese. but its not what it use to be. there other subs are still the best though.

I agree - I have been looking for a good "steak and cheese" - now my idea of good one is this:

-cheese is NOT cheesewhiz!! It's provolone or mozzarella
-meat is sauteed/grilled on a grill like in a diner, not "baked" or nuked
-with sauteed/grilled onions and green peppers
-mayo, grilled mushrooms, tomatos, hot peppers optional
(I choose mayo, 'shrooms and sometimes tomatoes - and dip in ketchup as I eat. Now that is some good eatin'.)
-good tasting toasted sub roll
-not overly greasy

Is that what they have at Duffie's?

sometimes you just have to make it yourself. I have resorted to making my own italian hot dogs. I do make them good though....

best Cuban I've found so far is at Maria Bonito's on East Colonial. I like that place. They have Mexican and Cuban food, some good moles.
