Sorry to bring this post back up from so long ago! I was searching the forum for good restaurants as we will be in Orlando permanently in 6 days!
This thread is so funny! To the original poster, or anyone else from NH, do you agree that the best Steak & Cheese is Nadeau's in Pinardville? It used to be anyway. A Steak & Cheese is SO different from a Cheesesteak! My husband and I went to Philly and tried a few cheesesteak places. He loved them, but I really didn't. A little too cheeze-whizzy and processed for my taste! A steak & cheese is made with steak tips, actual chunks of steak, grilled with usually white american cheese and then topped with whatever.....my family usually gets it loaded which is (tomatoes, raw onions, raw chopped pickles, hot peppers....and maybe a few others.....haven't had one in a while). Delicious!!! |

Ok, I'm from Philly and THE best cheesesteak around here is in Avalon Park. The restaurant is called Briantos. They are from the Philly area and they have the "right" rolls. Amoroso... nothing else will do. By the way Miakelly, i NEVER get cheeze wiz.... ewwwww. That isn't what all Philadelphians order. Just order it with American cheese and you'll be set!

I think it was D'allesandros that we went to. THANKS for the blog link to the cheese steak place-I'm sure we'll try that place next week!! Last edited by miakelly; 08-08-2008 at 07:49 AM.. Ha ha! That's funny daily journalist!
My vote is for the Steak & Cheese, husband votes for the cheesesteak. I don't think anywhere outside of New England (maybe even NH, not sure) has heard of the Steak & Cheese.....so I doubt it will get any votes....LOL.....just mine! It really is fantastic though......if you are ever in NH for any reason try one at Nadeau's in Manchester. I doubt you'll be disappointed : ) |

Yes, MiaKelly! I'm about positive that's where I ate my first steak & cheese, because it was indeed in Manchester, NH. My husband and his brother (both born & raised in Manchester) took me there. Being a native Southern Californian, I'd never eaten (or heard of, for that matter) a steak & cheese. Anyhow, one sandwich later, I was hooked. The only problem was, we were visiting his family on vacation. Nowhere that I've lived has offered something that I found to be the equivalent. I'm planning to try places that people have posted on here, and I thank everybody for their suggestions.
