Default Need Help Selecting a Hospital

We are new to the area (have only lived here 2 months) and I just found out that I'm pregnant. I'm trying to research Ob/Gyn's to select one, but I'm also curious if anyone can suggest which hospital to deliver at.

Here's the situation. We live in Oviedo, and from my understanding, are about 20 minutes away from Florida Hospital in Winter Park. I also have been told that we're about 30 minutes from the new Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Children. Most of the moms in my daughter's toddler classes seem to have delievered at Arnold Palmer when they did deliveries, or the new Winnie Palmer. They too live in Oviedo. I've heard that the Winnie Palmer hospital is beautiful and really caters to the moms and families. I've checked the website and it does look nice. I tried to look at the Winter Park birthing center (the baby place), but their website isn't up at this time. I was truly spoiled where I delivered my daughter (Scottsdale, Arizona) and I'd love to have the same experience. Can anyone make some recommendations?

If this is a factor to some, I do realize that all pregnancies are different, but my daughter did not want to come out so I was induced eight days after her due date. Needless to say, there was no 'rush' to the hospital, though I do realize this time could be very different. The Orlando traffic is something we learned about quickly, hence our Sunpasses!!!

Thanks everyone!!!

It sounds like Winnie Palmer is exactly what you are looking for. I had a great experience delivering my children at Celebration Hospital but that is a little bit of a drive for you. Good luck!

We had both our kids at Arnold now Winnie Palmer Hospital (part of Orlando Regional Medical Center or ORMC).

I highly, highly recommend them.

I work at ORMC and would recommend WPH as well. It's a beautiful hospital and I know your experience would be a pleasant one.
