today was the grand opening and it is worth the drive (well, i drove from tampa). the store is huge so wear your walking shoes. the food (swedish meatballs) was pretty darn good. you must all check it out. the prices and style are unbelievable!

Did you get anything for free for going on the first day? Are there any deals right now because of the grand opening? Thanks!

no nothing for free and no specials deals that i could see. everything is so inexpensive anyway that i dont think special deals are needed. in the middle of aisles throughout the store are large bins full of certain items which may be considered special deals but maybe these items are priced this low all the time. not sure. it's a great place though if you're into modern stylish inexpensive homegoods.

My wife is excited about it too. I think she wants to wait until the crowds are smaller. Too new yet.

That monster is a mile from me (in South FL). The crowds STILL haven't subsided yet! I'm hoping the Orlando store eases some crowding over here.

When I lived in Arizona, the new Ikea opened in Tempe, and a year later is was still packed! My husband dreaded going with me on the weekends. He said it's as bad as Costco crowd-wise. I wouldn't wait too long for the crowds to die down. We're in a BIG city with other big cities around which means it'll be packed for a long time to come.

I was thinking Monday morning would be a good time as far as crowds go. Almost any weekday in the morning although given the Christmas season, it might not be as quiet as I would like.
