I know that locals are used to the way crime is in Orlando and in America, but when telling people they will be fine on thier trips from other countries should we tell them that the crime here is kinda different than what they are used to just so they can be aware that things happen like they do, or should we tell them that all these things happen everywhere regarding bad areas and crime?
Just watch this video......and listen to this English tourist......are people misleading others on this site by saying things happen everywhere? Tourist, I-Drive Wendy's Robbed At Gunpoint - Orlando News Story - WKMG Orlando It's not a terrible story but the video is the reason why i like to inform outsiders of things they might not expect....what do you think?....should i still give in and say it is "safe" in Orlando for anyone that comes from anywhere? |

WHy in the World would you tell anyone Orlando is safe? Do you want to be the reason someone visits here, takes a wrong turn and gets shot and killed for $10 bucks???

I totallly agree... this is my life, I want honesty when I ask if I'll be safe somewhere. If Orlando and the surrounding areas do not want people to think it's unsafe for tourism, well, then do something about the crime (other than lie and say it's safe).

Yep our local officials would rather spend their money on big bonus checks for expressway authorities who sit on their a$$ all day than spend more money on providing us more cops, but hey, welcome to Puertorlando!

It's amazing how all the more desirable cities in the state manage without an Expressway Authority or a toll every 500 feet.

I live right down the street from that Wendy's....in fact I was just there last night! I'm glad that it was closed when it happened...I mean it's still horrible but at least there were no customers. I don't think I'll be out taking walks alone in my neighborhood...

I remember there was a massacre at Wendy's in NYC quite a few years back. Two people were injured and five people were killed. It was pretty horrible.
