Default Question about Knights Inn Maingate.

HI!

I've stayed at this small motel several times back in 2003 and I liked it because it was very inexpensive, you park right in front of your door, and I only used it to get a few hours of sleep during short trips in and out of Orlando.

Well, I have a couple friends from down here in South Florida who want to go to Mickey's Merry Christmas thingie. We would be going straight to the Magic Kingdom and wouldn't get to the motel until midnight or after to get a few hours sleep before heading back to SoFlo the next morning. Has this area gotten so bad that it would be too dangerous for three middle age women to stay about 8 hours in this motel? Financially we can afford a much better motel, but it's only going to be for a few hours of sleep and I've used this motel several times and it was fine for that.

Just wondering if anyone could give me an opinion on this because I've been left to make all the "arrangements". Maybe someone knows of a decent motel off Lake Buena Vista? I know I've posted that I lived there, but that's the thing, I lived there and didn't pay any attention to the motels/hotels.

Thanks!

You will be fine! My husband's grandmother did the same thing and we did not think twice about it. Just use your common sense and you will be fine. BTW, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas is awesome - so have fun!

Default Thanks!

I was looking at some other motels that were all over 125 dollars a night and although I do like to stay in a nice place when I'm vacationing..that's part of the vacation , just somewhere to sleep will be fine for about 38 bucks with tax. We'll be extra careful, though. My friends think I'm making a big deal out of nothing. They haven't read about the changes in Orlando. To be honest, I don't go outside much down here. They've been killing police officers quite often in my area and someone in my neighborhood was held up at gunpoint in broad daylight while taking a walk. So, please don't ever think I'm trying to trash Orlando. I still love it there.
