Hi Everyone,
I live on I-Drive near Sea World, and on Monday I'm starting a new job downtown, off of the Amelia St exit. I have to be there at 7:45 in the AM. I've never lived in a big city and had to deal with rush hour traffic--how long do you think I need to give myself to get there? I mean, how bad is traffic downtown in the AM, should I be leaving at least an hour early? I'm hoping that since I have to be in a little early that the traffic won't be as bad as it would if I had to be there for 9. I'm really nervous about this, I don't want to have to start my day at 5 AM just to make it to work!! ![]() |

I would leave at least an hour early on your first day and then remember how long it took you to get there....and if it took longer than an hour leave an hour and 20 minutes ahead next time...but if it took 45 minutes i would leave 5-10 minutes later than you left your house the first time.....after a week or 2 you will kinda know about how long the average commute is from your house to work
I would think it would ake about 30 minutes from I-Drive to downtown if you are leaving around 7am |

I would buy a garmin navigation system. Maybe a Garmin streetpilot c580, which has a traffic feature which routes you around busy traffic, mine helped me when I was at the orlando classic. But look at a garmin streetpilot or garmin nuvi, it will help. God Bless
