Hello,

My husband and I are looking to move to Sanford- more specifically Monterey Oaks subdivision. We want to know about how life is in that area i.e. shopping, churches, proximity to UCF ect...

Is this considered a good area in Sanford? How is the crime or are there any issues we need to be aware of in this particular area?

We don't have children and wont be any time soon so we don't necessarily have to worry about schools or anything.

Thanks for any replies we get...

I live about a mile away from Monterey Oaks and know the area well. It is a very good area of Sanford and though not important to you, is in the best school district in the area. Shopping is fairly close by with the Seminole Towne Center Mall complex and a commercial district surrounding it with dozens of big box stores/ chain restaurants about 5 minutes away. There are two churches in the immediate area, one a New Testament-type congregation and a nice historic Presbyterian Church just down the street. Otherwise there are Methodist, Baptist and Catholic churches very close as well. Access to UCF is very easy if you're not allergic to toll roads. Simply make a left off of Upsala Road onto HE Thomas Parkway and go a mile to the 417 South which takes you to University Drive and the main entrance within around 30 minutes (18 miles) with very little traffic until you get close to campus on University Drive. Hope this helps...if you need further specifics feel free to ask!

Thank you very much for the info! Tolls aren't much of a bother as I used to live in a city that had them and sometimes had to pay four to five to get across the city (hello Chicago)!

So far the neighborhood seems very quiet which is something I can appreciate.

PS your directions to work were spot on....University Drive is a nightmare sometimes, but it usually takes me 20-25 minutes to get to work.

Thanks again!
