Default Relocating to Orlando, need some help

My wife and I are looking to relocate from Mass to the Orlando area. We were considering renting in Solivita, although after reading some of the posts about it, I am not so sure. I work in sales based from home so a commute would not be an issue for me. We were attracted to the 55+ communities as her parents would be living with us as well, but that is not a requirement. We are looking for a nice, safe, quiet area where we can start out renting to make sure we really like the area before we purchase. We would like to be around $900 for a rental. If anyone could give some advice that would be great and if more information is needed, just ask. Thanks.

Solivita is great but once you leave the gates the nice, quite and safe part kind of goes out the window. I would suggest the Clermont area or maybe The Plantation retirement community in Leesburg. I have a friend that lives there and really enjoys it. Good luck and welcome to Central Florida!

Thank you for your input. Any idea where I can find any rental listings for that area? I have tried searching and can not come up with anything. Thanks.

Try Summit Greens in cleremont, but what do you really expect to get for $900 a month??

Any one have any ideas where I might find rental listings for The Plantation or Summit Greene? I am leaning more towards one of them then Solivita but can not seem to find any listings.

Levita is on a distinguished road
I lived in Orlando (Conway section) , move to Massachusetts in my teens and now currently reside in Clermont and hoping to move to Mt. Dora in the next couple of years. I grew up in the Conway section of Orlando and didn't mind it, Clermont is a nice community, I don't mind it but if you want a nice southern city with a New England Flair look in Lake County or Northwest Orange/Seminole County) Mount Dora is reminescent of New England as well as Winter Park. There is also Celebration but that is very Stepford compared to the other two...
