I second this motion. The polar express ride is a must see before the holiday season ends. Especially if you have little ones.

Job Board Questions
Hello Orlandonians,
My company is starting to look into the Orlando area for recruitment. The only problem is, I live out on the west coast and I have no idea where the best places are to post jobs. Does anyone have any ideas which job boards has the heaviest traffic? How about free job boards? Out here, Craigslist.org is the best bet for free job boards...any suggestions? Thanks for your time!

When my family looks for a job we use Careerbuilders and Monster. Also, I highly suggest putting an ad in the Orlando Sentinel. I do not know what kind of jobs you are trying to recruit but when I worked for a construction company we posted in the Sentinel and had an amazing response. There are plenty of people out there looking for jobs - my father-in-law has been out of work for 6 months now and is getting desperate. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thank you, that does help. I will be recruiting for Account Manager positions within the Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale area. We are relatively new to the area (just since the beginning of this year) and are a food service equipment supplier. I appreciate your help! I will check out the Sentinel.

We are planning on relocating to Orlando, but I have heard good and bad things about Orlando. We plan on spending around 585,000 to 650,000 for a house. We just want to be in a nice area with little crime. Any suggestions

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I love being here. L.A was just way too big of a city for me. The only thing I miss from L.A is my walks through the neighborhood and to my local Starbucks. I love walking and I can do that here but it's different.
With regards to fave parks...I guess it's a tie between SeaWorld and Magic Kingdom. I love Disney but there is something special about Dolphins and Whales. I live close to SeaWorld (I can walk to the park pretty much) I'm there a lot. Especially on my days off I love to just go there at opening, go to Dolphin Cove and go to the non-feeding section. When you are there early enough the dolphins will actually come up to you. It's so nice.
And yes I have done the Polar Express ride. It is cute. I love how the staff wears the conductor costumes and how they manages to transform the similutor into a Polar Express.

you might want to check out the MetroWest area. it is notorious for low crime rate.

If I'm spending $600k on a house, I want to be a lot farther from the very seedy neighborhoods right next to MetroWest, and I definitely wouldn't say it's notorious for low crime. At that price range, you can get a very nice house in great small communities with very little crime anywhere near, but it depends on what you're looking for in Orlando. Farther from downtown area? Try Lake Mary. Love Disney? Try Celebration. That amount of money opens up a lot of doors on where to live nicely around here..
