House not selling, husband already working out of state
and I'm losing my mind. Is there anyone else in the same situation? If so, how long has it been and how long do you plan on waiting it out? We talk about throwing the towel in and him looking for work here again, but it would seem like such a step backwards after we've come this far.

We have our house on the market near Port St. John, FL. We've dropped the price for a 2000 square foot house on an acre to 219K and we still haven't had a bite. My husband is already working out of state too - you are not alone.

How long do you think you can stand it? Do you feel like throwing in the towel, or are you determined to make it work and get out of Florida (my dream). My husband was the one that initiated the move, but he's miserable living in a hotel. How often is yours able to come home?

The only thing that sells homes in this market is price. What is your home priced at in comparison to the comps in your neighborhood? Undercut your competition by 10 - 20% to stimulate a quick sale.

Thats a tough siuation both of you are in, however on the flipside, you have half the battle won already. Your husbands already found work outside of this state. I have been looking for the past year for employment in New England. Keep up hope and have you lowered the price yet to the point where you will at least just break even?

We are lucky - our company will buy our house for close to 60K less than we initially thought we could sell it for. We've had it on the market for several months an have reduced the price to keep it the lowest $ per square foot in the area but we've not gotten any serious bites. We'll take the company offer at the end of the month and barely get out without losing any money.
My husband hasn't been home since he left - we did visit for Thanksgiving. He is going nuts in the hotel too - but I bought him a lap top that seems to help. We use our cell phones to text each other all the time but it is not the same. Neither of us likes living alone

We looked into leasing - but could only hope to lease for 1,300 a month and that doesn't come close to covering the payment plus insurance and property tax.
