Baldwin Park or the area near Winter Park? If you like big houses you might be unhappy with the current selection but it would be a short commute, assuming you are talking about the VA facilities that are down near there.

The VA is right there in Winter Park. You can find some nice homes in Winter Park pines and Brookshire Heights, but winter park is a little more expensive per square foot than other area's of orlando. Winter Park high is a highly rated school as is the elementary and middle school. If you head down University Dr homes get a little less expensive and you get more for your money. You'll have alot of choices depending on your price range.
Baldwin park is a neo-urbanism development right near the VA as well. Prices in there are very expensive though, and come with a CDD tax and usually a hefty HOA on top of that. Beautiful homes though, as long as you can afford the area. If you weren't looking to buy there are a few apartment communities within distance of the VA that are relatively nice as well. Any specific information on what you were looking to find out? were you looking for homes available? places to live? Shops in the area? entertainment? |

I can imagine the home prices in Baldwin Park will eventually fall: they were indeed overpriced when I looked into the area a year ago. Also, it might be possible to rent a house down in Baldwin Park or Winter Park. If you want a short commute that area is the place to go to be near the VA.

Baldwin park has some nice apartments and town homes you could look at also. With the traffic around here you want as short a ride as possible.

Well, the good thing about you relocating you don't have to worry about pay because you are in the RUS and your salary won't change unless you make more in your current state with a relocality pay.

Or are you talking about the new VA opening up in Lake Nona? Even if you move here, you are only about 15 mins. from the VA by Baldwin Park.
