Orlando is a good location for autistic/Asperger's children/adults . I will not speak for the schools because they were ignorant in the 1980's about Asperger's Syndrome, so I do not know if they improved or not now that my son is adult.
However there is much access to societies/groups , even for Asperger's adults. Check out UCF Center for Autistic Related Disorders and Autistic Society of Greater Orlando (ASGO). UCF-CARD is more about practical matters, and ASGO is more about fun and social outtings. Both are very large, active and helpful organizations ! There are several other smaller private groups that have been started by Moms too. |

What about services for people with Autism/Asbergers? I have heard Florida is one of the worst state for services for people with disabilities. From what I understand, Florida has cut a lot of services.
