We are spoke about coming over for 3 months and having a good look round and see what things are like in the Orlando area, although after reading the threads on here it is putting me off slightly. The crime rate in England is probably just as bad these days.

I think comming and looking around would be your best bet for sure. Don`t forget there are other sunbelt cities to look at. Tampa, south florida, jacksonville, Atlanta etc.

We'd been coming here on holiday every year for 14 years before we finally moved here. We already had a house here and thought we knew the place very well. But it's been a tremendous culture shock, it's very different living and working here than it is to just visit.

Default Info

I applaud you for wanting to come here without having been here before, if i understood you correctly. There is quite a large EX pat community here and there are other nice areas outside of Orlando.

I can only advise you from my situation in that i came across 5 years ago after having been here on vacation several times a year for most of my life and i wouldnt choose outside of Orlando to be honest. Simply because for me its an adventure to hop in the car and take my family to visit these other places for a weekend.

There are some great communities and really the only thing which you need to consider is your budget and the lifestyle you want to lead.

For an example i sell many homes around Poinciana but alot of people dont want to be close to the tourist area with all the neon lights where if truth be known crime may be slightly higher because criminals may or may not target tourists. I myself live very close to Disney ( we can see the fireworks every night but out of the tourist way and we love it, and prices are very reasonable. We take out daughter to Disney alot (she is a 7 yr old princess and pink has thrown up all over her...lol)

It all depends on what your looking for and your family needs.
