I feel I have done what I can in the uk and would like a change of lifestyle, Education and healthcare is poor in Enlgand and this country is just going to go down hill in my eyes, but then again this is my opinion so I dont mean to offend anyone by saying this.

Hi, you're from the UK, right? Me too, and been living in Florida for 2 years now.
Please send me a Direct Message if you'd like to know a very good website for Brits seeking info on how to move to the USA. Have to tell you though, it's not easy to immigrate here, so hope you have staying power and determination. |

People here say the same thing about the US, just so you know. Only a hardcore cadre of the rightwing actually feels good about stuff happening to this country (the US) anymore. Just keep in mind the aphorism "The Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence". Lots of young people in the US have to pay for healthcare out of pocket (and avoid going to the doctor, even when they have things like Recluse spider bites), more and more employers don't offer insurance. If you buy insurance on your own, you have to be in perfect health or you will fork over an exorbitant percentage of your income (if they will even cover you at all). The education system in Florida is also nothing to get excited about, either. It's not bad, not the best in the US, however.

I've heard this statement frequently in the last year or two. I love my country and don't ever see myself leaving, but there are many that are not happy with the direction the country is going, and I'm not referring to foreign affairs. Where are you actually coming from. I can only give you info from my prospective but i hope it helps.
Im originally from the UK but moved here when i met my wife. I decided to become a real estate agent and it really opens your eyes to whats out there and what bargains can be had. I didnt have the problem with a visa but i know an attorney who is fantastic if you need one. She was great and was an asset in speeding up the whole process and might offer some good info for you. As for buying property the skys the limit. There are lots of nice properties to suit all budgets and it just depends where you want to live/your lifestyle and where you intend to base your work. If you want to buy a business i would definatly discuss it with an attorney as they are clamping down on business visas in these circumstances. If you need any info just let me know. Nick |

Hi I am from England, we have jsut started looking at Orlando to live, this may seem silly but none of us have ever been but it is a place we would like to look into moving to. I am a hairdresser so would look for work in a salon and my partner is in It so he would look for work in that area, we are not planning on startng our businesses up there whatsoever.
We are spoke about coming over for 3 months and having a good look round and see what things are like in the Orlando area, although after reading the threads on here it is putting me off slightly. The crime rate in England is probably just as bad these days. |
