Hi! I'm looking for a nice place to live, ideally a place with great places to walk. I'm 24, make around 50k and work in the Maitland area and would like a place that doesn't break the bank for me. I know that most trendy areas that are easily walkable tend to run more expensive, so it's a pretty tall order, but does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Thank you!

Village at Lake Lilly in Maitland off of 17/92 (Orlando Ave) is a very nice complex next to a nice park. There are restaurants within walking distance and the Winter Park Village is a short drive.

There's also a new complex next to The Fresh Market in Orlando off of Mills Ave. I can't recall the name of that one.

I've actually checked out the village at Lake Lilly. It's a fantastic area and I even have some friends who live there, but it's a bit expensive for someone without roommates. A one bedroom is around 1200. I'm trying to stay under 1000/mo for rent.

I will definitely look into the complex on Mills though. I hear Mills is a nice, up-and-coming area.

Check out the area behind Altamonte Mall in Altamonte Springs known as Uptown Altamonte. It's a very walkable area with grocery stores (plus Whole Foods is opening late this year in the Uptown development) and other amenities. There are a few nice apartment complexes that should suit your budget well.

Also Lake Mary has the Colonial Grand at Town Park location right across International Parkway near Heathrow. Those are right at or below $1,000 for the 1BR depending on location..

College Park you may be able to find something. Edgewater Dr. is almost like a town within the city and it's very walkable.

If it is in Winter Park's city limits (blue road signs), it should be fine for the most part. Of course, being close to Park Ave is the best option, but that comes at a price.

Doubt it. Very few apartments inside Winter Park City. Most are unincorporated Winter Park and full of college kids and the problems that come with that. If you name the place or intersection it would be helpful.
