Tijuana Flats did not go out of business. They closed down that location to move a few blocks over to the swankier Thornton Park. If you've ever been there during lunch hour it's easy to see they did not close down for lack of business.

Stop whining about tolls they are a part of life. You want to get anything quicker, faster, better than the guy next to you there's always a premium to pay.

Dixie Stampede was bought out by their neighbors the Premium Outlet Malls who, if they keep up this pace, are going swallow up most of south I-Drive soon. (yet I still shop there and support them....Have you seen the deals there????)

Sam Snead may have closed but Spice opened up just a block over to take it's place. Sam Snead's had a bad location to start off with. Other side of Central as opposed to being on the Lake.

I was sweating bullets in my suit today but my ac has been off for a while now. If I had to stay home today I might have had to turn on my ac but luckily I cheat by mooching all the free ac at work and not going home till it's cool.

4 murders is not a good pace to start off the year but on the bright side they still have 356 to try to correct that. (trying to be an optimist here)

740 Sports radio???? Sorry, talk radio and radio in general is just struggling lately.

Tolls here are considerably cheaper than they were in the NYC/NJ area when I lived there. Imagine paying $6.00 - $9.00 just to cross a bridge!

I have my a/c on during the day because Mobile homes tend to get hotter then houses but At night I don`t need it.

Everyone has the right to have an opinion personally when I first came to this forum I got upset over negative comments about Florida. Now after being here a bit I can care less now, if you don`t like it well thats your problem not mine.

Florida is not for everyone and thats OK because if it was we would have everyone on top of each other.

Great analogy: Orlando and New york are considered exactly equal in what they have to offer!!! In fact did you see the latest ratings in culture and education: 1) New York 2) Orlando
How about comparing Orlando to other cities in Florida or the South!!!

Our main purpose is to assist members with concerns regarding a location whether it be relocating or living in the area and YES positive and negative views are key to assist our members.

However, our opinions on a location or issue are just that, opinions. Highly subjective. Personal preferences. Quirks, even. Leave wiggle room for dialogue, others may not see things the same as you, or been there as long as you, and any one of us can be wrong.

Pouncing on someone you disagree with runs contrary to the spirit of this board and its members. We are here to help each other.

Be civil, no personal attacks, flaming, or insults. We may attack ideas (politely) but we do not attack the speaker of the idea. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility. Please, report bad posts instead of engaging in flame wars on the boards.

If you disagree with something, say so, but explain WHY.

David's Whole Foods over in Winter Park had a great selection of produce. I could not afford to shop there often but loved going in to buy when I could.

Try driving from Delaware to Conneticut on the interstate. You'd be broke by the time you get to your destination!

Sorry to say Orlando is getting worse and soon to resemble Miami. At lease Miami has beautiful waterviews. I'm tired to people wanting me to speak Spanish too. Who out there misses the old Orlando, with hardly any crowds, nice southern-like All American folks who were polite, quiet neighborhoods, and able to shop and not worry about someone approaching you for money or to buy flan?

I have friend who used to live in South Florida and he says it doesn't get as hot there because of the ocean breeze. I guess you have to decide what you want to deal with. I don't think I could deal with the congestion. Right now I live far enough outside of Orlando that the congestion isn't such a problem.

Depending on where you live in South Florida that is very true. I had a friend who lived in Aventura near the water and the weather was always nice at his place because of the breeze coming off the water. Even as far inland as the turnpike (Coral Springs) you still feel that effect. However the closer you get to the Everglades it gets unbearable. I lived briefly in Kendall on the edge of civilization just bordering the glades and the heat and humidity there was unbelievable.
