How do answer friends who may be thinking of moving to Orlando when they say, "Are there any areas I should stay away from?"
I have lived in east Orlando for 5 years, but I don't really know the city and area that well. What I hear on the news and read in the Sentinel indicates that lots of bad stuff seems to happen in Pine Hills, (Pine ANUTHING for that matter) and parts of OBT. If you were listing 5-10 areas to NOT move to, what would they be? |

What have you been doing for five years? Are you a hermit?
Anyway areas not to move to would be OBT(trash drugs hookers) anywhere north or south, lee road area(scary), Lockhart(slums), pine hills(ghetto), west of the downtown core (Ghetto), Americana blvd and oak ridge(high muggings rate). Semoron blvd(gangland) from the airport up until aloma the worst being between curryford and lake underhill. metrowest, goldenrod. forest city road, eatonville. Tangelo park. There are more but that is the biggest areas. |

He is talking about where to tell freinds of his to move to, all the areas I listed I would not live in they are crappy or high in crime. Would you buy a house in pine hills or oakridge? You don`t have to look for trouble people have got shot for blowing the horn around here. |

i drive through pinehills regularly, blow my horn from time to time, miraculously im still alive, yes there are some problems in pinehills but the vast majority of people there are hard working decent people, but only a tiny percnetage of them are causing the trouble which gives it a bad name |

Thanks for the info. This is just the kind of info I am looking for.
And yeah, I am kind of a hermit. I work from home. (I live just east of Dean Rd, just north of 408.) For most shopping and dining, we use Waterford Lakes. We mostly travel on toll roads and rarely have an occasion to go downtown (since my wife really IS a hermit! )So, this info is very helpful to me. |

One area to totally avoid is Poinciana. It is a dumping ground for hispanic gangs, indignant, belligerant rejects from the Carribean and the northeast.
