Yes, not the "downtown" area... not the REAL Windermere but the area most refer to as Windermere.

We must be talking about the real Windermere, not Windernear or the 535 areas. Ppl drive horribly fast, aggressive in the areas most refer to as "Windermere." I hear honking, etc. all the time, its just like being in other areas.

I think Shaq still owns his house in Isleworth and Ken Griffey Jr is also still in Windermere near Windermere Prep. Tiger bailed after the scandal and Bubba Watson bought his house.

Looking at the renderings it seems like a good idea with a more urban mixed used development that I think should be implemented more often in communities. Something you can use to walk and chill with friends as well as family.

Of course I'm talking about the real/original Windermere, why would I talk about Windernear? You get a lot of house for your buck there, but it isn't the real/original Windermere.

Shaq moved to Atlanta, but I wouldn't doubt it if he kept Windermere home. A lot of athletes will buy homes in FL due to no state taxes, and even if they keep homes other places, establish residency in FL.

Last time I heard of Tiger's move, he purchased two homes. One in Jupiter and one in Asheville NC. In an interview on WLOS out of Asheville, his plan was to eventually make Asheville NC his primary residence.

Obama, not that I'm a fan, but also purchased a home and plans to live full-time in Asheville, post-presidency.

The OP's budget could get a home in Windermere proper, if they choose to look there.

400-500k in the real Windermere... not too bad... that really wouldn't get you a TON of house in Oviedo really.

Doubt Tiger is moving to Asheville any time soon - his proposed golf course is in bankruptcy.

I live just off of 535 in Lakeside Village (half a mile south of north of Alberts, if you're familiar with the area, that's the field with the cows and horses on 535). The only noise we have right now is the construction for Lakeside Village shopping center phase II and occasionally a fire truck from down the road at station 35 heading out on a medical call. Even with the windows open (although not today….brr!), it's quiet enough that I can hear the water splashing from the fountain in the community pond a block away. Are you talking more about the area around 535 at Fiquette (which isn't in Windermere) or the area of 535 at 535/435 (which isn't Windermere)? Those areas are a bit more congested (especially 535 at 535/435). The only other area that seems congested to me that isn't the old downtown is the area east of Main, around Conroy-Windermere Road.

ETA: In parts of 535 in that area, the speed limit is 55 because there's so little development, so that might be why it seems like people drive pretty fast. Once it goes down to 40 beyond the Chase Road/Overstreet Road area there are some folks who keep it around 45-50, but they tend to be the ones pulled over by the cops near Windermere Prep.
