Later this summer I plan to head to the Orlando area to look for work and a place to live. Any ideas of where to start? I need to be close to Winter Park. My daughter will be attending Full Sail University. But I don't necessarily need to be in Winter Park. So any insight will be helpful and II would like to know other than the service industry what other types of work is in the area? Thanks!

Winter Park is still the most desired area in Orlando, so if you can afford it, live there! You may also like Baldwin Park if you don't want an SFR.

If you can afford it, Winter Park.
Oviedo and Winter Springs might also work, and aren't too far from Full Sail.
