Even if you go to the NY forum, you will see the diference.Pleople just don't hate NY because it has bad areas.
New York actually has culture, nightlife, broadway, 12 professional sports team and most importantly it has a vibrant downtown, with wonderful shops, restaurants, bars, book stores. Downtown Orlando has positively, absolutely NOTHING unless you count a few awful overpriced chain restaurants, some tattoo parlors and about 20 or 30 bars that all seem the same: awful and catering to the 19-25 crowd. Amazingly, Orlando does not even have a single newstand. My father was in the hospital and I wanted to pick him up a copy of Barons and bring it to him and much to my dismay, there is not a single newstand in downtown Orlando which tells you so very much about the city and just as importantly, it's people who are so provincal, they don't require it. DOWNTOWN Orlando is truly appalling and even those that try to defend everything about Orlando cannot possible point out a single positive about it's downtown, which will never be vibrant. Stop comparing Orlando to cities that have a viable downtown, it is like comparing Apples to Roach Droppings.

I remember going to a Dentist that just opened up shop. He was great. He was trying to build a base. 6 months later, he was so full it would take 3 months to get an appointment.

Bottom line. The timing is the best it has been for moving to Orlando since 2002. However, if you buy now, you risk losing 10-30% in equity in the house. I would rent for a while.

Try Deland area Half way between Orlando and Daytona. Nice small community low crime and homes are quite a bit less expensive than Orlando. for more information contact me at cvansingel@holidaybuilders.com

Orlando is a small city you can`t expect it to have all those things the small cities I have been to also do not have those amenities.

I think you might be asking a bit much of downtown.

I`m not saying it wouldn't be nice to have a downtown like Boston or Atlanta but those are large cities and Orlando is not.

I would suggest staying in Canada. Orlando is awful. I can't wait to leave.
