It depends. Typically once you sign the contract, anything in that contract will be set in stone. However you might still have to meet with the builder months later to choose various options--those options can go up in price from the time you began the process to the time you choose them.

Also on custom homes that are going to take a couple of years to build there can be inflation accelerators built in and based on one of several indexes.

It's called Summerlake Groves. M/I homes builds there.
