Well, it makes me want to laugh that people complain about high taxes and then about the school system. I think Polk County (where I live) will be cut by like 5 mil if the tax cut is passed. And you think you can teach the kids without the money when the schools are already over full. I think part of the problem is people that do not teach their kids english, it takes so much more time with the teachers who then might have to leave out other kids. Even if the teacher speaks spanish, the tests are in English.

I live in winter haven and have to say living in Florida's Natural Beuaty is not very fun. There is nothing to do you cant get in the water because of aligators, there are TONS of bugs (you breathe them while going on walks) and I wish I still lived in Melbourne, fl. Which I have to say is pretty nice.

All that said, since moving to Florida I have developed wicked crazy alergies. Aslo, I dont like Central Florida. I am not sure where the person who said traffic isnt bad was driving, but its pretty bad most of the time. At least where I am at if I drive into Orlando.

What did you expect your daily life would be like there, why did you expect that, and how is your daily life different than what you expected? Tell us what you actually experience that's different than you expected it to be.

I don't think it will be better again. The WRONG PEOPLE are leaving. And as those people leave, the other people will continue to flood the place. Some people don't like living like sardines... or rats bunched together with scraps to make do with... And maybe other people don't like it either but if they keep swamping here with 5 kids each... it'll soon be just like the place they left.

Somehow it seems like this is a job for the gov. Something needs done, yet our gov is strangely seeming to promote this situation. And Jeb wants this state's official language to be made spanish. He throws that on the table every year and every year it gets shot down. But one of these years it won't. So... how does the gov benefit from this situation? It obviously has an agenda.

A place reflects the value systems of the residents. "Better for the rest us" will be a very subjective concept...... As in.... WHICH "rest of us".

All the wrong people are leaving.

mojow, i couldnt agree more, the people who we would want to stay are leaving, and in return, we are getting people that bring the element that left behind here to fla with em. and then they complain about fla or how it was better in X.

My husband and I live in Hollywood Fl and hate it. Federal Hwy is full of homeless people, hookers, drunks and drug addicts. It is shabby and run down. We pay $850.00 a month for a small run down apartments which the jalousey windows (tilted panes) suck all the a/c out of. We cant wait to move away. Soaring rental and home prices, an influx of too many people coming in, bad traffic, rude people and also high auto insurance make it tough to eke out a living here. We cant wait to move away in 4-months when our lease is up.

I could not agree more with the couple of previuos posts. The majority of the people leaving this state are people who have higher standards of living than the WRONG people who are moving into this state.

Period.

This Florida survey had only 1200 participants! It's really insulting to people's intelligence to post such a conclusive statement when you consider there are over 1,500,000 people living in Florida!

Agreed !

I have to ask then why are there a large number of people moving back into Florida recently once they tested the grass on the other side of the fence.
Many of them are alreayd back, moving back or hope to get back to Florida.
There info is very important because they have lived it and must have decided life it better where they were, in Florida.
