Default Winter Park or Oviedo?

I'm moving from California and would like to know, please, which is a safer (I mean with less crime) place to live: Winter Park or Oviedo? Thank you!

Most likely Oviedo, but it depends on what section of the city you're moving to. Winter Park has the name for having a lot of upscale homes, but there is a section near 17-92 you would want to avoid. If you can post a more specific location (i.e., subdivision, neighborhood...) folks on this forum could give you a lot of good info.

Oviedo but Winter Park is more upscale and some areas more urban like around Park ave.

Statistics say Oviedo. And my personal opinion would also be Oviedo.

There are plenty of area's in Winter Park that are very safe and very low crime though.

Oviedo and Winter Park both have very distinct personalities though, both have very safe area's, and each have their positive and negatives. They are both worth checking out when you come to town.

Depends what you are looking for--if you want some FL country, brush, palms (bushes), lots and lots of subdivisions, away from metro area, good selection for shopping, a mall, then Oviedo.

If you are looking for pricey culture, sidewalk cafes, college environment smack dab in the middle of residential, commercial, parks, walkability, main street shops (quaint), then WP is your area.

If schools were a factor, WPHS is an 'A" school year after year.

Winter Park is more "urbanized" than Oviedo. Oviedo is a rural town with lots of subdivisions, chain restaurants, and a shopping mall. Winter Park on the other hand really wouldn't give the impression of a rural area. Winter Park has a slightly higher crime rate but both areas are very low.

Oviedo's greatest advantage, the fact it's not close to any of the major corridors, is also its greatest disadvantage. Winter Park on the other hand has high traffic in many places.
