I hope she makes it because she seems like a nice woman but it looks grim from here.
OMG, people move when they are in financial distress all the time. Michigan just went through a decade or HELL like you can't imagine. I saw people leaving the state with what they could pack in their cars. They lost their jobs and homes, do you think those people that left Michigan in desperation had emergency funds? Some went out of state looking for jobs and had to live in Motels, shelters and with family members if they were lucky. It was bad. At the same time we were recieving thousands of refugees from war conflicts that needed placement services, ESL services, etc. Yet we survived. Stop spreading panic.

Out on the road today, I saw a "It's Better in Puerto Rico" sticker on a minivan.

My response: If it's better there, why'd you leave?

But Puerto Rico is having some problems lately, you may have seen in the news, and many, many more are leaving, and soon!

My question is, do you think they should all move to the Orlando area? Can Orlando area handle an extra 500,000-1,000,000 people over the next few years, and are there good jobs available for all of them? Or would it be better for these migrants to fan out to different parts of Florida, or different parts of the US?
I would have no problem with many people of San Juan moving to Orlando FL. Its seems to be a great city for them to prosper. It would be better for them not to spread out and all go to Orlando, raising Orlandos population at the same time. Orlando needs a lot of infill and the inbound PuertoRicans could help.

I'm wondering why this is such a huge issue for you?

I tend to agree but the only reason I said spread around a little is because they might have more success finding opportunity.

What about those of us who live here? Do we have any say or is Orland area just a lab for the experiment of creating a new Puerto Rico?

They already are. Take a ride down Semoran below 50, or through Kissimmee.
