I'll be in Orlando for a Regional Leadership conference from Feb. 16-23. I've only lived in Miami and never visited up north.

My questions are:

1) Is the weather on the cool side that time of the year? I'm in Sacramento, CA, and it's been in the mid 40's or so lately during the day, so I'm used to it already.

2) I'm trying to plan my days efficiently so I can see the town. I'm not sure if Disneyworld will be in my plans, but maybe the other theme parks (can't remember them).

I don't have kids, so I would like to know of any good restaurants and bars to visit. A good 'ol pub would be just fine.

Suggestions are welcomed!

I do not live in Orlando currently, but spent quite a few years there and just moved Fall 07. So I can definitely give you a few tips on where to grab a bite and a drink.

But first I need to know which part of town you are staying, will you have transportation available and also what types of food would you like to try?

The conference ends on the 17th, so I'll be staying in Kissimmee with relatives once it's over. I'll be getting around by car. As far as food, a good Italian restaurant would be good, or a place where tapas is served.

If you have a car to use then that is obviously a plus in Orlando.

My favorite places for Italian are:

1. Antonio's La Fiamma Resorante: Antonio's La Fiamma - Cafe D'Antonio - Italian Restaurant - Orlando, Celebration, Maitland, Central Florida
2. Bravissimo Italian Cafe: bravissimo
3. Ristorante Tuscany: Orlando Restaurant, Orlando World Center Marriott: Hawk's Landing, Ristorante Tuscany, Mikado Japanese Steakhouse (broken link)

For Tapas there are two incredible places:

1. Ceviche: | Ceviche.com |
This place is amazing and a must try in Orlando, they have I believe over 90 different types of Tapas.

2. Cafe Tu Tu Tango: CAFÉ TU TU TANGO
There are a few locations in Cali as well so you may have tried it, we always have a good time there.

For an Authentic Irish Pub/With pretty good food:

Fiddler's Green: Welcome to Fiddler's Green
Very authentic and a usual weekend hang out for me when I lived in Orlando. I live in Boston now (known for Irish Pubs) and this one could fit right in up here.

A couple Other side Recommendations for a couple places that have incredible food:

1. Napasorn for Thai: Napasorn Thai Restaurant Sushi Bar
Probably our favorite place to eat in the city.

2. The Ravenous Pig: The Ravenous Pig
Fun Place to eat, and the food lives up to all the hype

Have a great time in Orlando!

Normally its in the 70s that time of the year, I have seen it even warmer.

At some of the resorts they heat the pools so you can enjoy them. The temperaturs drop enough at night that the water in the pools doesn't stay warm.

It never hurts to bring a jacket because we can get a cold front at any time.

Google something like "orlando, average temperatures" that should bring up a monthly statement as to the weather.
