If someone is seriously injured or killed by the Sunrail trains, in my opinion it will cost the tax payers more money. They my have to install stronger gates, gates that are strong enough not to be rammed though like the resent pick up truck that rammed through. It sucks that people want to play these games with their lives though. Maybe its time to think about moving some of the rail line under the street via a vidock or bridge. I know that is costly but it would save LIVES and MONEY.

Well Peach, maybe you should move down here from Atlanta, take some engineering classes, and make it happen.

Nope. It is difficult to sue a public entity unless you can prove negligence. No entity--public or private--has the legal obligation to take more than the safeguards a reasonable person would expect. Flashing lights and crossing arms are all that is required. You can't save stupid people from themselves, and fortunately our courts agree.

This is Florida, we don't do that.
You risk your life and die, your family doesn't get millions in wrongful death suits.

Crime is also a very interesting subject in the Orlando forums. These folks doing the suicide missions at Sunrail stops are also committing a crime. Maybe there needs to be more signage as you state TinyTrump, but there definitely needs to be enough where there is not excuses for busting through gates and putting yourself at risk just a save a few minutes.

What kind of gate material, swivels and anchors is going to be able to withstand the force of a 3500lbs 300+HP machine travelling at speeds exceeding 45mph? If bridge rails can't even do that, what makes you think it could realistically be done to railroad gates?

well this driver who caused the Lake Mary accident probably wasn't from NY, I happen to think many of these Sunrail accidents. Maybe phase 2 should move above or below street level to save idiots from hitting the trains
