hotels near Disney?
We are planning on spending a few days in disney since we have to go to Tampa for a wedding. I was wondering does anyone know of any cheaper hotels that are close to disney? Id love to stay in 1 of the nicer ones but with wedding, hotel there and gift..we just need to try and cut corners someplace. So I thought maybe someone in the area can think of a place that still nice but still friendly for my bank account.
Any ideas??

There's a hotel on Sand Lake Rd that looks nice...wasn't my hotel though, so I don't remember the name. I always opt for places like Comfort Inn. Cheap stuff.

There are some hotels on Disney grounds that you can get reservations pretty cheaply. The budget resorts I believe they call them. I was able as a Florida resident to get a room for like $60 a night. I paid an extra $10 for a frig in my room.
If your planning on going to the parks, staying at the hotel will get you a HUGE savings on your tickets for the parks.
We enjoyed the Pop Century resort and it was VERY affordable. The other nice thing is if your on Disney grounds, they have free buses that will take you just about anywhere on Disney grounds you want to go.

I have worked front desk at a few of the hotels in Lake Buena Vista and have also worked at Disney hotels. When are you planning to come and what is your price range. We had to do call arounds 2x daily to check rates and availability. I know the hotels close to Disney very well. If you give me specifics, I can probably give you some good choices.

One good thing about staying at a Disney resort is you also get to stay late or go in early to the parks. It's well worth the money to stay at a Disney resort.

I forgot about that part and you are so right. One time they had like 4 hours extra at the water parks, normally they aren't open at night but they kept them open for the people in the hotels.
In that extra hour, you can get through the rides you REALLY want to see with no lines.

Yeah, when I did the late admission I was able to get on the popular rides with no wait. In fact if I wanted to go on the rides again I was able to stay on without getting out most of the time.
